Every body part is important

Whilst exercising at bootcamp on Wednesday, I fell and hurt my wrist. Coach Ojoi attended fo it immediately and I felt better. However, the pain became worse during the day, I was hardly able to concentrate and ended up going to the hospital to have it checked out.

It was my left wrist that was hurt and I remember telling a fellow bootcamp body that I was grateful it was my left hand that was affected. It’s safe to say I somewhat undervalued my left hand.

There’s so much I have been unable to do in the last few days. My right hand only functions expertly with the support of my left hand. If you doubt it, try using only your dominant hand to get dressed, zip up your skirt, dress or pants and you’ll understand the value of your non dominant hand.

This whole thing got me thinking that as Christians, we are all part of the body of Christ. Each with his/her own role, duty, significance (Read 1 Corinthians 12: 12-27). No role is less important, each role is significant. We should never think we’re irrelevant no matter what.

This principle applies to life in general, at home, at work, in the society. We are all important, we just need to embrace this and choose to make difference, be significant.

Never underestimate any body part – physical, spiritual…. All parts are important.
